Phoebe is a freelance filmmaker and journalist based in Melbourne, Australia. She has a Graduate Diploma in Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies) and 13 years’ experience in film and television under her belt.

Her short films and documentaries have screened at film festivals around the world.  ANNA (2013) was shortlisted for Tropfest 2013 and debuted at St Kilda Film Festival 2014. THE SPECTACLE (2013) was made in five days and was a finalist in the 2013 International Documentary Challenge. HOME (2012) was a semi-finalist in 2012 global competition Focus Forward Films.  SWITCH (2011) was supported by Screen Australia, garnered two international awards (LA Movie award 2012, Best Shorts award 2011), and screened throughout 2012/13 at festivals including Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival, Interfilm Berlin’s KUKI Youth Festival, Hanoi International Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, and Melbourne International Film Festival, as part of the prestigious Accelerator talent program.

In 2011 Phoebe undertook a Film Victoria-funded directing internship on NEIGHBOURS, and in 2012 completed a directing attachment on season three of OFFSPRING. Phoebe’s television drama concept, HOMECOMING was shortlisted for Australian Writers’ Guild’s Think Inside the Box initiative 2013, and is currently in development. Subsequently, Phoebe was invited to take part in AWG’s coveted Pathways Program.

In 2012 Phoebe co-founded Melbourne filmmakers’ collective WHAM BAM, with whom she creates short films, docos and music videos. She is also has a background in theatre, with plays published and staged in Melbourne, Sydney and Edinburgh.

Phoebe is developing several long-form film and television projects, and was a team writer for news website HIJACKED in 2015.
